PRESS RELEASE
You may have noticed we are making noise here at FinTECHTalents (and AITECHTalents and RegTECHTalents) Towers.
We’re shouting about our Steering Committee, our awesome speakers, our partners (who are busy gearing up to tell their stories at the Festival). Over 300 financial institutions hold Festival passes today – and that number is growing every day. Soon we will start announcing our craft beer and singing along with our super cool live music acts. We even have a few extra-special activities being planned to run along our three day Festival (which we will announce soon!)
We also have a brand new, enthusiastic marketing guru. Please welcome Emily Atherton (you can follow her here: @emily_athers) She is responsible for so much of our ‘Shouting from the rooftops’ about the Festival.
What we’re trying to do here at VC Innovations, and I hate to say this, but we’re trying to disrupt the event model. With eight weeks to go before FinTECHTalents explodes at PrintWorks in London on November 11th, 12th and 13th – I have to say: I am getting emotional. (as this video will prove)
I know that I don’t exactly have a reputation for being calm, cool and collected. I wear most of my emotions right there on the front buttons of my cardigan. They are real – they are authentic – and they help me drive past all those little voices that say: ‘Liz, your life would be so much easier if you went with the status quo, joined a team and a company filled with people who just wanted to do what ‘everyone else has done before’.’
Good little girls never do anything disruptive. (Good little girls, also never have any fun)
I’ve been in the FinTech industry for 25 years. I’ve put together 15 large-scale events in this industry. I’ve spoken and attended dozens of events and at best they are not working and at worst they . Everyone working every day at FinTECHTalents feels exactly the same way.
What we’re trying to do with FinTECHTalents is create an event for people in the industry by people in the industry that respects the audience. I’ve been banging on this on this for quite some time – I believe people go to events for two reasons (and they rarely get both):
- They go to learn
- They also go to network
There are plenty of events that look great on Twitter. They’re wonderful – you can show your mom you are on stage. Then there are events where business happens and at the end of the day that’s what you need to happen.
FinTECHTalents, although it’s a big huge, three-day tech event for FinTech, for AI, for RegTech – We are trying to recreate a more intimate experience.
Sponsors of FinTECHTalents are all assigned a community manager. We’re going to work to with our partners so the connections that people wish to happen, actually happens. Our FinTECHTalents family is not left alone on our exhibit hall waiting for some ‘magical footfall’ to wander past their booth.
When you become part of the TECHTalents Festival, whether you’re a delegate, speaker, a sponsor, student – you become part of our community and that’s the type of event we’re trying to give to the industry.
So that is why I’m getting I’m getting kind of emotional.
Register for now – what are you waiting for!
