Saga Smartphone
Saga is manufactured and designed by OSOM, which has considerable experience building hardware for Google, Apple, and Intel. Saga has a 6.67″ OLED display, 12 GB RAM, 512 GB storage, and a flagship Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform. The smartphone has a Secure Element built-in, the Seed Vault, to store private keys, seed phrases, and secrets, which can interact with mobile apps or browsers.
Solana Mobile Stack SDK
Solana Mobile Stack SDK is available for developers to use and create Android apps that can work with the Solana network. It offers libraries for apps and wallets to provide rich mobile experiences. The Solana Mobile Stack SDK also includes the Mobile Wallet Adapter, which is a protocol specification for connecting mobile wallets with apps, enabling different types of transaction signing services. Solana Mobile Stack SDK also provides Seed Vault, a system service that securely keeps key custody for wallet apps. Developers can access Seed Vault via an API contract and support library for secure transaction signing.
The Solana dApp Store
The Solana dApp Store is an alternate app distribution system that will distribute apps developed by the Solana community, allowing developers to have a direct relationship with their customers. It will also provide a distribution channel for apps to empower the Solana community to manage the store’s contents.
Solana Pay
Solana Pay is a payment protocol that can be combined with mobile devices, enabling Solana Pay URLs to be captured via QR codes, NFC taps, messages, and web browser interactions. Developers can integrate the protocol by using the Android reference implementation.
Future Plans
The Solana Mobile Stack SDK is continuously evolving, and developers can use it to create mobile apps for the Solana network. Plans for the future include creating sample apps to demonstrate the usage of Solana Mobile Stack with native Kotlin/Java apps, React Native apps, and mobile web apps. The Solana Labs team will continue to add features to the Seed Vault and Mobile Wallet Adapter and add iOS-specific protocol details to the Mobile Wallet Adapter specification.
