Wirex Partnered Up With Visa To Issue A New Crypto-Enabled Card

The digital payment platform which was established in 2014 has come a long way since then. Within a year of its launch the company came up with a crypto-enabled card. The new technology allows users to use their cards for both crypto and traditional currency payments. Now Wirex wants to take on the world with their latest crypto-enabled card.

Expansion

The platform already has a solid user base of 5 million mainly based in the UK and in the U.S. By partnering with Visa the company wants to conquer almost the entire world in one go. The long-term strategic global partnership recently signed by the two parties will provide access to huge markets. These include Asia-Pacific (APAC) and the UK. The partnership will enable Wirex to directly issue crypto-enabled debit and prepaid cards to over 40 countries.

Long-Term Partners

The two firms have worked together in the past as well and have a great long-term relationship. Visa helped Wirex to gain access to the European market in 2020 when it provided a membership to the digital payment platform. Due to the membership, Wirex card holders could use their cards at 80 million locations in Europe.
will strengthen this partnership even more. The parties are planning on how to expand the collaboration to offer new solutions in their old market, like Europe and the USA.

Bridging The Gap

Both parties are excited about the new collaboration. The Regional Managing Director of Wirex APAC, Svyatoslav Garal, said that Visa’s expertise in safety, security and innovation is priceless. These will be the foundation for bridging the gap between traditional and digital finance.

Matt Wood, the Head of Digital Partnerships of the APAC region at Visa looks forward to working together with Wirex. He said that the platform will help them to provide new payment methods to their customers. Together the two companies will create a seamless connection between the two worlds.
